Floating (2.8Mb 128kbps
44 kHz)
This was a track written a long time ago,
when I was just getting to grips with music, I still have fond memories
listening to this because I think it was one of the first things I felt
I'd got right and I can't help feeling that this track became a sort
of template for everything I afterwards. Written using a Roland MT32,
Commodore Amiga and a sequencing package called Sonix.
Solo1 (3.7Mb 128kbps 44 kHz)
Somewhere after writing the Onyx Box,
or maybe during, I can't quite remember, I had a go on one of those
keyboards that you can wear around your neck, a simple backing track
using some easy to follow chords and a sampled drum loop, one take and
this is the result, probably the closest thing to a live performance
I've done :)
The Onyx Box Demo (2.9Mb
128kbps 44kHz)
Before any real work began on the Onyx
Box project I had some ideas floating around in my head during writing
Cold Coffee and whilst working with the band(mentioned above). This
track is the original demo of the title theme for the up and coming
project. It was recorded primarily to give to Col (in the band) to ask
whether he thought it was any good or not. It got the thumbs up and
work began on what became the final version, which sounds nothing like
this one :) ... to this day I don't think Col has forgiven me for what
I did to this version.
Scrapped Extract
From Nexus 8(1.23Mb 128Kbps 44 kHz)
During the creation of Nexus 8 (Opus1)
there were a number of occasions where the music wasn't going in the
right direction for the piece. This is a part of Opus which was later
changed and consequently this bit was entirely removed. Looking back
I sometimes wonder if the right decision was made. There is some dropout
on this recording, because it was literally rescued from the boot of
my car.
Origional Cold Coffee
Ending (1.26Mb 128kbps 44kHz)
This is the origional ending to the cold
coffee tape. It never made it to the final version in this form, but
echos of it are still in the final version. This is sweet version and
much much happier than the final version. I think all of it was done
on the Roland MT32.
Scrapped Last
Track From Nexus (1.3Mb 128Kbps 44 kHz)
Like most of the projects before Nexus,
I intended Nexus to end on a bit of a feel good high. As it turned out,
this wasn't to be, and more gentle ending was chosen. This is one of
the endings for Nexus.
